The powerful promise in II Chronicles 16:9 did not work for King Asa Why ?
The Story
The 12 tribes were divided as Israel and Judah (they are brothers)
Syrian is an enemy of the tribes!
Asa was the king of Judah and Baasha was the king of Israel. They had been fighting against each other for a very long time.
Asa was very particular in setting a few things right that his evil father had done as a king.
King Baasha came against King Asa by building a city Ramah in his area.
Asa instead of asking the Lord, sought help from a Syrian King.
Ofcourse King Asa won against Baasha with the help of a Syrian.
But He missed a major victory that could have brought peace for a longer term!
The Lord spoke through a seer to king Asa , that because you sought help from Syrians you made them escape from you(meaning they will trouble you in future).
The Lesson to be Learnt:
A LOYAL HEART IS ONE THAT SEEKS GOD'S HELP ALONE AT ALL TIMES.
Seeking GOD's help at all times gains us victory over invisible future troubles.
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
(For King Asa God says: In this you have done foolishly; therefore from now on you shall have wars.”)
Relying on God alone when your heart screams for a physical touch/help/comfort is NEVER EASY but it is EVER REWARDING TO GENERATIONS!!
Ps 118 :8 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."
START YOUR JOURNEY TO RELY ONLY ON GOD AND SEE HEAVY HARVEST!
